Reviews
deck with an accompanying 129-page guidebook, created and written by
Ethony Dawn and illustrated by artist Danielle Mulligan. The
lightly-glossed, borderless cards are larger than the average tarot
deck but still a comfortable size to handle. The cardstock is high
quality, and the silver-guilded edging does not rub off while
shuffling. The beautiful black and white bee imagery on the back of
the cards allows for reversals, and the same imagery is found inside
the sturdy, colorful box as a lovely touch.
The attractive guidebook offers helpful suggestions for cleansing,
charging, and utilizing the deck, along with the Ethony’s Awakened
Soul Challenge and several original spreads. Substantial food for
thought is presented with each card, under the headings of Title,
Symbol, Keywords, Awakened Soul Story, Awakened Meaning, Shadow
Meaning, Affirmation, and Personal Reflections, and a black and white
image of each card is also displayed for reference. Unlike the little
white pamphlets that come with some decks (offering little more than
a few keywords to munch on), this compact book was clearly designed
to inspire and guide the seeker through the introspective journey,
offering multiple layers for personal exploration.
Positive and upbeat without being sticky-sweet, the inviting card
images draw the seeker to look more closely in the safe way that one
snuggles up to read a good book. The inclusive, multi-cultural
artwork is brilliantly-colored and simple, yet immediately engaging-
making it a good fit for both beginner and advanced enthusiasts.
Professional readers are also likely to enjoy this deck, as the
intent of each card is clearly conveyed in a relatable way that will
engage clients, while the thought-provoking card titles are
tastefully displayed at the bottom of the cards in a subtle way that
does not detract from the modern, accessible imagery.
As a professional, I've found this deck to be spot on, inspiring, and
pleasing to behold, and I thoroughly enjoy it. There are no “scary”
cards, so it’s suitable for a wide audience and a good choice to have
on hand when working publicly. I'd recommend The Awakened Soul Oracle
Deck in a heartbeat to any open-minded seeker!
