Reviews
so when this deck came out I knew that I wanted it.
It has been created by Jasmine Becket-Griffith and
Lucy Cavendish, two phenomenally artistic people who,
when they come together, seemingly create unbelievable
magic. The deck features all manner of wonderful beings
and their magical animal companions. The kinds of
animals featured are wide and varied, from dragons,
wolves, ferrets, kittens and beetles to raccoons,
mermaids, pigeons and turtles. There is quite literally the
length and breadth of the animal kingdom featured within
this deck.
The cards are largish, like the previous
deck, so you may need to adapt your shuffling style,
they are glossy, flexible and measure 13.6cm tall by
9.6cm wide. Each card is numbered, named with keywords
at the bottom. The book is 176 pages long with
greyscale images of the cards, the deck itself has 45 cards.
There are three sections for each card explanation:
About, Speaks and Divination Meaning. I do believe there
are some slight differences between the Australian
release and American release of this deck.
The deck
never seems ambiguous and often is quite forward and
clear, sometimes perhaps more honest than one would like
but such is the nature of the realm in which these
beings reside. I have found it to be very insightful,
unflinchingly honest and very accurate. If you walk a spiritual
path, using this deck as a guide offers interesting
thoughts on the journey ahead.
This deck really comes
alive in your hands, the images are not two dimensional
representations of our psyche but truly unique beings who wish to
share their wisdom with you. Poe’s Brave Flight
encourages you to lose the fear, to not let it stop you, Wolf
Moon watches over us while A Beautiful Little Worm
tells you to take care of yourself. Once Upon a Midnight
Dreary wants you to let the creativity flow, creating
beautiful, divine works, The Butterfly Ferrets share with you
I am reborn while Beauty and the Beast cautions you
may need space in a relationship.
The Oracle of the
Shapeshifters is truly a powerful tool for growth and
transformation, of shifting perspective and seeing what may or may
not be there. They guide gently but with a firm hand,
sharing their wisdom and knowledge as you navigate your
way through this world. Honesty is key here, as is
knowing that their soft touch will be with you. It is a
fantastic deck if you want something different, are a fan of
the first by these two wonderful ladies or follow a
path that involves moving in other realms and
shapeshifting.
